I had the pleasure of capturing a surprise proposal in a large park in Kyoto. Although I’ve photographed in this park several times before, this was my first surprise proposal here. I arrived early to scout the best spots and waited for the couple to arrive.

It was a hot day, so the park was almost empty, which allowed us to shoot the proposal on a small bridge surrounded by lush greenery. She had absolutely no idea, and her surprised and joyful reaction was priceless. I was able to capture her emotions perfectly by shooting continuously during that special moment. When I showed the photos to the couple, they were thrilled and really loved the results.

The park had many beautiful spots, so I guided them around for a full hour of shooting. They followed my directions perfectly, from running across paths to sharing kisses, which allowed me to capture many incredible shots. Both of them were friendly and bright, making the session so much fun. I’m truly grateful they chose me among many photographers, and I hope they come back to Japan again. Congratulations
