At the end of September, I had the honor of photographing a surprise proposal in Kyoto. The couple planned to propose in the evening at a beautiful Japanese garden, so I arrived early to prepare and wait for them. Since it was a bit later in the day, the garden was less crowded, which made the photo shoot go smoothly.
As always, I approached them pretending to be a tourist and guided them to the perfect spot for the proposal. The moment he got down on one knee, she was completely surprised—her expression was filled with shock and joy. Moments later, tears of happiness streamed down her face as she embraced him tightly.
Even though it was our first time meeting, I felt truly moved while capturing that beautiful moment. They were such a lovely couple, and after the proposal, we continued taking photos around the garden. They enjoyed every moment of the shoot and showed me the most natural, happy smiles, which made it possible to capture many beautiful pictures.
Thank you so much for choosing me as your photographer for such a special moment. Congratulations once again—and I hope to see you both again in Japan someday!
