I recently had the pleasure of capturing a surprise proposal in a quiet area just outside central Kyoto. Since it was my first time shooting at this location, I scouted the area beforehand and selected a few of the best spots for photos. The site, by a beautiful river, was perfect for the proposal, and the couple planned with me to have the special moment there.

Even during the daytime, the area was surprisingly uncrowded, creating a relaxed and private atmosphere, which made the shoot run smoothly. The girlfriend had no idea about the proposal and was genuinely surprised, but her joy was truly heartwarming.

After the proposal, I guided them through various photo spots for a one-hour session. Every location produced beautiful photos, thanks to the couple’s natural expressions and genuine smiles in front of the camera. We captured many great shots at locations he had requested in advance, and they were thrilled with the results.

We spent the session walking around and chatting about anime, which made the hour fly by. Meeting them and connecting like friends was a truly wonderful experience. I hope they visit Japan again soon. Congratulations again on their engagement!
