A couple I photographed during their proposal session in Arashiyama returned to Japan and booked another photoshoot with me in Osaka. Their proposal shoot in Kyoto had left such a strong impression on me because we had such a genuinely fun time together. Since then, we had stayed connected on Instagram, so it wasn’t as if we lost touch completely. Still, when they reached out again to book another session during their trip to Japan, I was truly excited and felt incredibly grateful. I had been looking forward to seeing them even before the shoot day arrived.
When we finally reunited at our meeting spot, it felt as if no time had passed at all. They were exactly the same warm, bright, and cheerful couple I remembered from our first photoshoot in Arashiyama. I had already selected several photo locations in Osaka based on their preferences, and I took them around while keeping their requested poses in mind. Since it was a busy time of day, some spots were a bit challenging because of the crowds, but creating photos together in real time made the whole process even more enjoyable.
Every time I showed them the images on my camera, they reacted with such joy that it made me genuinely happy to be photographing them again. Moments like these remind me how meaningful this job is. When couples I photographed years ago return to Japan and choose me again as their photographer, I feel deeply honored and grateful beyond words.
I hope I can visit Singapore someday and reunite with them again. It was truly wonderful seeing them, and I’m already looking forward to the next time they visit Japan.
